2014 – 2015 Book List

Houghton "Mother and Children Reading" c. 1860

Somehow I neglected to add a page for our Read Alouds for the 2013-2014 school year.   I don’t know how I missed sharing all of our fun read alouds together for the entire year!  I’m bummed because now I’m sitting here trying to wrack my brain over what we actually read last year and I know I am forgetting some.  So in order to attempt to catch up I will start off the listing for the 2014-2015 school year with the ones I can recall from last year. Since we school year round anyway this isn’t such a stretch.

The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann D. Wyss  – I found a beautiful old unabridged edition of this classic tale at our local Goodwill Bookstore and my girls and I thoroughly enjoyed the unabridged version.

The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks –   By far, one of our favorite read alouds to date.  Halfway through the novel, as I realized just how much my girls were enjoying it, I purchased these sets of cowboys and Indians for them to play with and create their own adventures.  We are looking forward to reading the rest of this series together.

The NeverLand Girls by Disney various authors

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving
