Quilted World Map GIVEAWAY

So I finally jumped on the bandwagon and created Facebook,Twitter, and Pinterest pages for my blog.  I’ll use them to update my readers about giveaways and resources, homeschooling news, and updates on my blog.

In order to entice you to Like these pages I am launching my first giveaway.  I know you’re pretty bummed about not winning that half a billion Mega Lottery so try your chances at winning the next best thing to financial freedom- a learning resource.  One lucky winner will be chosen at random to win their very own — (drum roll please)

Quilted World Map!

Children not included.  😉

Last year I posted about some of the many quilted resources that my mother has made for our homeschool.  (Yeah, Nanny pampers us.)  I’ve had a lot of positive feedback about it and my mother graciously offered to make another world map quilt for my giveaway.  You can see some more of her awesome resources here.   My girls LOVE their world quilt and you can see some of the fun things we do to incorporate it into our activities here.

This map isn’t intended to just hang on a wall… although it does look rather nice that way:

This world map is intended to be played with, jumped on, wrapped in, and learned from for many years to come.

So go ahead and like my fancy schmancy social sites and leave a comment letting me know you did.  The more you like the more chances you have to win.  Don’t have Facebook or Twitter?  No problem!  Just subscribe to my blog via email or Rss feed for your chance to win.

  • Click your way through the Rafflecopter steps to increase your chances of winning- depending on your browser you may need to click the “Continue Reading” link to open up Rafflecopter fully.
  • Must enter by April 6, 2012, 11:59 PM.

  3. Jenny says:

    I LOVE the quilt!

Btw. Can you please explain to me the “cage” around the pool? I’ve been wondering about this for a while.

    • Kristen says:

      Jenny-
In Florida all pools are required to have baby gates (also known as a child fence) now. It’s the law. http://www.ehow.com/about_6471956_florida-pool-fencing-law.html
It can be taken down fairly easily and stored if I was planning a party or something; but since I have three young kids we always leave it up. It ruins the view a bit but its pros outweigh the cons.
You should enter the giveaway for your chance to win the quilt. Since you already commented on my post just click that you did it on Rafflecopter. Right now you’re not showing up. I’d love for you to have a shot at it too.

  4. I sorta really love this! really really sorta love this!

  5. Jenny says:

I understand the gate, it’s the pool structure itself that I’m unfamiliar with. Is that for bugs or to keep things warm? Does that count as an indoor pool?

    • Kristen says:

Oh! You mean the screen! A majority of our back yard is screened in- the pool included. It keeps bugs, dirt, and leaves out of the water and blocks a good portion of the UV rays.

  6. Jenny says:

Ohhh!!! My husband, son and I are all now staring at your screened in backyard. We never see things like that where we live. I wish we could filter out the big leaf maple leaves in our backyard but the entire structure would be covered. That’s funny how in the same country architectural norms can vary so differently according to region.

    • Kristen says:

I know what you mean. Screened-in pools are the norm here. I think it’s pretty rare here nowadays to have a pool and not have it screened in.
